State Basketball Tournament Schedule

Come out this Friday and support our Varsity Conquerors as they play their qualification games. The girls play at 11:00 a.m. in the Life Center and the boys play at 2:30 p.m. in the Middle Gym. Don’t forget to wear your ORANGE on Friday.

JH Girls Basketball Team Make School History (We Think)l)

The JH Girls Basketball Team won the I.A.C.S. State Championship this past Saturday. This is possibly the first win for the JH Girls Team. There may have been one team in the past that have won, but with out a trophy and banner to prove it…we’ll give credit to Coach Washburn’s Team until we hear otherwise. The JH Boys took third place in the Division I Section. Congratulations to both teams on a job well done!

State Basketball Tournament Information

The JH Boys will face Danville this Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in the IACS State Tournament. With a win, they will move into the Division I Championship Game at 2:30 p.m.

The JH Girls will see Romeoville this Saturday also at 9:30 a.m. If they win, they will play for the Division I Championship Game at 1:10 p.m.

The Varsity Girls were given a second seed at the seeding meeting today. This gives them a bye until Friday of the State Tournament.

The Varsity Boys were given a sixth seed and will face seed eleven Jordan Baptist this Friday at 4:00 p.m. in the Life Center. Come out and support your Conquerors with your Duo Buddy (Friday is Duo Day).

HS Conquerors Come Close

Both the Varsity Teams came close to winning in last night’s basketball games. The girls came up short four points against the visiting Lancers from North Love and the boys went toe-to-toe against the Heritage Defenders until the last few minutes of the game. Both Conqueror Teams played great games.

JH Boys/Girls Win Tournament Games

Both JH Basketball Teams won last night advancing them to the division one brackets for Saturday’s State Tournament. The boys beat Berean for a third time this season in overtime 42-35. The girls beat Cathedral 36-30. Congratulations!

High School Conquerors Split Friday

The JV Boys, Varsity Girls and Varsity Boys braved the snow while traveling to North Love this past Friday. The JV Boys almost had their first win in hand. With two points ahead and a few seconds remaining on the clock the boys hopes died when a Lancer scored by chucked the ball way behind the half court line. The JV Boys have their last game this Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. as they host Heritage.

The Varsity Girls made a last minute comeback, but were unable to close the gap falling to the Lady Lancers 37-31. Their last regular season game is this Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. as they will host the same Lancer team. I’m sure they will be looking for payback (in the nicest way possibleJ)

Looking for a win going in to this Wednesday’s IACS State Tournament Seeding Meeting, the Varsity Boys looked in fine form as they broke the tips of the Lancers. Coach White’s team cruised to a 46-24 win. The Varsity Boys will host Heritage this Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. for their last regular season game.

In other sports news

The Varsity Girls and Boys Basketball Teams will be seeded this Wednesday at the IACS State Basketball Seeding Meeting in LaSalle Peru. This will determine who they play in the qualification games this Friday and/or next Tuesday.

The Jr. High Boys and Girls will play their qualification games this Tuesday to determine their tournament futures.

Boys Win State Basketball Title

The SCS Elementary Boys Basketball Team won the Illinois Association of Christian Schools State Basketball Tournament on Saturday afternoon. They defeated Romeoville in the semi-finals 37-28 and then beat Chillicothe 34-29 to win the championship. Congratulations to the boys and Coach Washburn and Coach Blevins!

JH Boys Tame Warriors

The JH Boys tamed the visiting Warriors from Faith Baptist Christian School (Pekin, IL) in yesterdays IACS Tournament Qualification Game. The Conquerors unanimously won 48-14. Coach DeYoung played his starting five for the first half and then let the bench go to work in the second. The boys will travel to Berean on Tuesday to determine what division they will play in at the State Tournament on February 18^th. If they win they will play in Division One and if they lose, they will play in Division Two. This is the third time the boys have faced Berean. The Conquerors have won both games, but the last game was only won by a last second three point shot. Let’s hope it’s like they say it is…Third Times a Charm!

The Elementary Boys will travel to Danville tomorrow for their IACS State Basketball Tournament.

Elementary Boys Basketball Tournament Information

The Elementary Boys were given a number three seed going into their qualification game. They cruised to an easy victory over the visiting East Moline Eagles (seed six) on Monday night.

Elementary Boys Basketball Tournament is this Saturday in Danville. The boys will face (seed number two) Romeoville at 11:15 a.m. If they win they will play for the championship at 2:45 p.m. If they lose they will play at 1:30 p.m. for third place.

Go get em boys!
